Sterling weakens the most since 1985

Sterling weakened the most amid Britain's referendum outcome where the citizens voted that they should exit the European Union.

The British currency reached its lowest zone since 1985, following the 52% lead of those who have voted for Brexit against the 48% of the citizens who favored Britain to remain in the EU.

Sterling trades as low as 1.3228 versus the U.S. dollar

Late Friday, the GBP/USD pair traded as low as 1.3228 and after somehow managed to retrace back to 1.3616.

The sterling climbed amid the Bank of England's announcement that it will boost the situation with an aid of 250 billion pounds, taking all the necessary steps and measures to help the economy.
