New York, 4 September 2014 - Leading online payments and digital wallet provider Skrill USA Inc. today launched its new Mobile App to customers in the US. The app enables customers to manage their digital wallet and to send and receive instant payments anywhere, whether they are paying for goods and services or transacting with gaming sites.
Available on Android and iOS platforms, the App allows Skrill customers to benefit from fast, secure access to their Skrill account, simply by entering a five digit pin number. There is no requirement to repeatedly enter a username and password for each account, reflecting the Skrill ethos of making online payments ultra-secure, quick and convenient.
In bringing its Mobile App to the US, Skrill is building on its successful launch in Europe last year. Mobile transactions continue to gain momentum in the US; a study from Juniper Research (2013) forecasted that there will be more than 1.75 billion mobile banking users in 2019, representing 32 percent of the global adult population. Smartphone ownership has now reached more than 90 percent of the US population and the mobile app launch signals Skrill’s focus on innovation and providing relevant content.
