Skrill double winners at the Paybefore Awards Europe

London, UK- 30 April 2014: Leading digital payments company Skrill, is proud to announce that it has won two awards at this year’s Paybefore Awards Europe. Paybefore’s panel of judges selected Skrill as winners in The One to Watch category and the company’s Prepaid MasterCard in the Top of Wallet category.

Paybefore Awards Europe were created to celebrate the best of the prepaid, mobile and emerging payments industry in the U.K. and Europe. Winning awards in both ‘The One to Watch’ and ‘Top of Wallet’ categories cements Skrill’s role as one of the key industry players in emerging payments.

The panel recognised Skrill’s Prepaid MasterCard for giving consumers instant access to the money in their Skrill Digital Wallet. Transfers can be made to and from Skrill Digital Wallet using just an email, so users don’t have to reveal their personal financial details. The MasterCard, alongside the Skrill Digital Wallet and Skrill 1-Tap, places Skrill as an emerging payments business offering services with staying power and the potential to move prepaid and emerging payments forward.

Skrill will now vie for best-in-category distinction, which will be announced during the Paybefore Awards Europe ceremony on 20 May at the All Payments Expo Europe in Marbella, Spain. Visitors will be able to vote for Skrill as a People’s Choice winner before the awards presentation. Siegfried Heimgaertner, CEO, Skrill comments:

“We are thrilled to have won in two categories at this year’s Paybefore Awards Europe. Skrill has used its 13 years of experience to create payment solutions that are tailored to the needs of both consumers and businesses. These offerings provide a range of support and services to help both business and consumers, no matter how they want to pay or get paid. It’s great to be recognised as one of the best in prepaid, mobile and emerging payments.”
