Oil prices higher in a squeezed fuel market

Amid the latest pressures and the exhaustion noticed in the fuel markets and the U.S. gasoline inventories, the price of oil climbed today. The WTI crude traded at $52.60 a barrel, 26 cents or 0.5% higher.

The WTI crude traded at $52.60 a barrel, 26 cents or 0.5% higher and the Brent crude to $55.41 per barrel, 0.5% or 29 cents upper.

Switzerland

Switzerland's rate of unemployment stabilized at 3.3% and matched the economists' predictions.

Germany

Germany's trade balance declined from 21.8B to 18.4B, thus having dropped more compared to the estimations for depreciation to 21.4B.

AUD and NZD lower vs. the greenback

The Aussie and the New Zealand dollar traded lower versus the greenback today, following the RBNZ's decision to leave rates unchanged.

The NZD/USD approached the 0.7197 level, retreating 0.91%, and the AUD/USD to 0.7199, dropping 0.30%. The U.S. dollar index reached the 100.38 zone, 0.24% higher.
