Gold, the precious metal, traded to $1,175.65 a troy ounce, declining 0.07% in the New York Mercantile Exchange on the Comex division.

Both silver and copper for March delivery traded to $16.913 a troy ounce and $2.682 a pound, thus declining 0.08% and 0.45% respectively.

Aussie drops while U.S. dollar index rises

The Aussie and the U.S. dollar traded to 0.7455 thus the AUD/USD having declined 0.23% while the USD/JPY fell to 113.66, 0.18% lower. The U.S. dollar index climbed 0.02% to 100.18.


Japan's average cash earnings rose from 0.0% to 0.1%. The analysts predicted stabilization at 0.2%.


Australia's current account balance dropped from -15.9B to -11.4B. The economists estimated the nation's CCB to decline -13.7B.


Germany's factory orders escalated from -0.3% to 4.9%. The analysts estimated the nation's indicator to appreciate 0.6%.
