China deeper in railway construction

China is planning to go deeper in building railways for 2017, aiming to spend 800 billion yuan or $115.09 billion, close to last year's budget, for growing its track network to 150,000 kilometers.

China to add 2,100 km of railway track

The nation will be adding, this year, 2,100 kilometers of track in western and central regions, while electrifying 4,000 kilometers of railways, as per the Chinese Railway Corporation.

Furthermore, the country will set a yearly spending goal of 800 billion yuan for a period of three years. During 2016, the nation used approximately 801.5 billion yuan in railway construction.

Moreover, China is planning to spend, over a five year period, 2016 - 2020, 3.5 trillion yuan on building railway tracks.
