Banc De Binary’s Ahead Of The Week Report: October 13th – 17th, 2014

Reporting from Banc De Binary’s analysis centre - The Trading Room - welcome to Ahead of the Week for October 13th to 17th, 2014. All event times are GMT.

On Monday the 13th, currency-moving events are thin on the ground, with the US, Japan and Canada markets offline due to national holidays. Traders will see things pick up on Tuesday the 14th, when the UK releases its Consumer Price Index for September, with a possible impact on Sterling crosses. The previous level was 1.5 percent on an annual basis, and the event is at 08:30. At 09:00, the high-impact ZEW report on Germany’s October Economic Sentiment is released – the benchmark was previously at the level of 6.9.

At 01:30 on Wednesday the 15th, China announces its Consumer Price Index for September, so there could be movement on CNY crosses. On an annual basis, the benchmark was previously at 2 percent. Then, at 12:30, the highly-anticipated Retail Sales data for September is announced in the US. Sales grew by 0.6 percent in August, and analysts expect a zero percent result this time around.

The trading highlight on Thursday is at 09:00, when the Eurozone releases inflation numbers for September. The Consumer Price Index benchmarked at 0.9 percent on an annual basis last time around, and given the recent concern over inflation levels in a weaker European economy, it’s one to watch.

That brings us to Friday the 17th and a market-moving event 09:00, when the Eurozone announces second-quarter GDP numbers on an annual basis, previously reported at 0.7 percent. At 12:30, Canada releases Consumer Price Index numbers for September, previously reported at 2.1 percent on an annual basis.

That was Ahead of The Week Report from Banc De Binary.
