Michael Overlander

Michael has been actively involved in commodities for over 40 years, having begun his career on the London Metal Exchange (LME) in 1971.He has worked for the Sucden Group since 1973. In 1984, Michael was appointed to the board of Sucden Financial. He has been responsible for helping the company expand its activities from being a single commodity house to a fully comprehensive brokerage company with an extensive international client base. Michael was Chairman of the London Sugar Market for 4 years, Director of the former London Commodity Exchange (LCE) and London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE). He was also a long serving Director of the LME until the exchange was sold to Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) in 2012 and is a current member of the LME User Committee.
