Yesterday, US President Trump decided to pull the US out of the Iran nuclear deal and said that he will reimpose sanctions to OPEC’s third largest oil producer. Tonight, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand decides on monetary policy. This will be the first meeting headed by the new Governor, Adrian Orr, and the first under the Bank’s new dual mandate.

The dollar continued drifting higher against all but two of the other G10 currencies on Tuesday. The only currency that managed to gain was SEK, while JPY ended the day virtually unchanged against its US counterpart. The main losers were NOK, AUD and NZD in that order.
