The U.S. dollar weakened against the Swiss franc and the Japanese yen, amid the investors and the traders moving to safe haven assets following the French presidential election's first round outcome.

U.S. dollar and franc lower to 0.9966

The USD/CHF pair traded to 0.9966 declining 0.18%, and the USD/JPY to 109.09 falling 0.2%. The EUR/USD reached the 1.0727 zone rising 0.1%, and the GBP/USD approached the 1.2825 level.

As per the latest outcome of the first round, the investors fear of a probable run-off between Marine Le Pen and Jean-Luc Melenchon. The U.S. dollar index traded to 99.66.
