Weekly Outlook: Jun 19 – 23; RBNZ Policy Meeting, Fed, BoJ and RBA Minutes in Focus

The week ahead is more quiet in terms of economic data, compared to the one just gone, however, the economic calendar has a lot of events and indicators that can trigger volatility.
RBNZ has its interest rate decision while Fed, BoJ and RBA will publish the minutes of their latest policy meetings. After U.K. snap election, the Brexit negotiations are starting today, with leader U.K. Prime Minster Theresa May. Early in the morning, Fed’s Willian C. Dudley will give a speech, while a while later Eurozone’s construction output for April will be released. In German, the Deutsche Bundesbank (Buba) President Jens Weidmann will give a speech. Later in the day, U.S. Fed’s Charles L. Evans has also a speech. Overnight, Australian housed price index for Q1 and the RBA minutes of the last policy meeting will be published.
Tomorrow morning, the German producer price index for May will be released as well as Eurozone’s current account for April. The Federal Reserve and Bank of Japan will publish the minutes of their last meetings which will be closely eyed. In the last FOMC meeting, they raised fund rates by 25 basis points to 1.00%-1.25% and appeared more hawkish than expected. They revised upwards GDP growth forecasts for this year, lowering unemployment rate expectations and keeping unchanged inflation projections while they also kept on the table one more rate hike in 2017, as initially estimated.
Wednesday starts with the U.K. public sector net borrowing for May. From U.S., the existing home sales in May will be released as well as the MBA mortgage applications. At 24:00 GMT, the Reserve Bank of New Zealand will release its interest rate decision accompanied by a rate statement. The bank is expected to keep the monetary policy on hold at 1.75%...
