Another full day of speeches is coming today. These will include BoE Governor Carney, BoJ Governor Kuroda as well as ECB President Draghi at 13:30 GMT. During yesterday’s trading day, the euro had an aggressive bullish session and drove the EUR/USD pair at a 10-month high.
Euro Surged Sharply Higher; EUR/USD jumped to 9-Month High
In calm summer months, we saw a surprisingly aggressive bullish run in euro enjoying its strongest day in more than a year. Fed Janet Yellen’s speech was supposed to be the major event yesterday, however, ECB President Mario Draghi was under the microscope when he said that they may change the policy to keep stance unchanged and referred that “all the signs now point to a strengthening and broadening recovery in the Euro area”. The single currency had a sharp buying interest against all the major currencies during Tuesday’s and early Wednesday’s session while the EUR/USD pair rose to its highest level in ten months. Today, Mario Draghi will have another speech at 13:30 GMT.
