The buck has been widely higher as geopolitical tensions seem to calm down, while GBP/USD plunged more than 3% in August, reaching an 8-week low despite positive data. Euro was traded around the same levels, while traders are looking forward to Markit PMIs today.
U.S. Dollar Higher Vs G10 Currencies
The U.S. dollar was trading higher versus the other G10 currencies as investors relieved from the calmness between the U.S. President Donald Trump and North Korea. There is no news to increase geopolitical tensions. The U.S. housing price index added only 0.1% versus expectations to increase by 0.4% versus 0.3% the prior month. Later in the day, the greenback will be prone to U.S. manufacturing PMI, housing data and FOMC member speeches expected.
