U.S. dollar gains as the tensions resume

The U.S. dollar gained versus its major counterparts today managing to move away from its two years weakest level. The recent tensions in North Korea continue placing pressures on the globe.

U.S. dollar and yen to 108.73

The U.S. dollar index approached the 91.61 level appreciating 0.33%, the USD/JPY to 108.73 escalating 0.84%, the USD/CHF to 0.9514 rising 0.78%, the EUR/USD to 1.1987 falling 0.4%, and the USD/CAD at 1.2119 depreciating 0.35%.

Gold drops in Asia's early session

Gold fell during Monday's early trading session amid the tensions between the U.S. and North Korea resuming.

Comex gold futures traded at $1,339.96 a troy ounce falling approximately 0.9% or $11.30.

Palladium approached $939.35 an ounce rising 0.8%, platinum to $1,003.95 falling 0.7%, and silver futures to $17.86 a troy ounce declining around 1.4% or 25.4 cents.
