The British currency traded at $1.2931 rising 0.37% after having reached $1.2952.
CAD lower vs. the dollar at 1.2761
The Canadian dollar aimed lower versus the greenback but resumes close to its 13-month high level. The USD/CAD pair approached the 1.2761 zone appreciating 0.09%. The U.S. dollar index went to 95.59.
The Bank of Canada increased rates, within a period of seven years, for the first time, and was the first major institution having joined the FED's tightening monetary policy.
Oil under bearish pressures
Oil was under considerable downside pressures, with Brent reaching $47.62 declining 0.25% or 12 cents, and U.S. crude approaching $45.47 falling 0.04% or 2 cents.
