Gold considerably higher in Asia

Gold in Asia traded considerably higher amid the markets in South Korea, Hong Kong, and China shutting for holidays.

Gold for December delivery to $1,277.44

In the New York Mercantile Exchange on the Comex division, the gold futures for delivery in December traded to $1,277.44 a troy ounce rising 0.05%.

U.S. dollar upper after the services sector's upbeat

The U.S. dollar traded higher versus its major counterparts, following the positive data in the U.S. service sector that resumed supporting the greenback, ahead of the FED's officials scheduled meeting later today.

The GBP/USD traded at 1.3226 declining 0.13%, the EUR/USD to 1.1749 easing 0.10%, and the AUD/USD reached the 0.7824 zone dropping 0.50%. The U.S. dollar index approached the 93.39 level rising 0.09%.

Crude oil lower to $49.89

Crude futures for delivery in November on the New York Mercantile Exchange traded to $49.89 a barrel falling 0.18%, whereas Brent remained at $55.77 a barrel.
