Aussie stable in morning session
The Aussie changed slightly, in today's morning session, versus the U.S. dollar, amid the New Zealand dollar declining further before the RBNZ's decision on rates tomorrow.
The AUD/USD pair stabilized at 0.7630, and the NZD/USD traded to 0.7292, weakening 0.10%. The U.S. dollar index was at 100.47, rising 0.09%.
Gold weaker but supported
The precious metal, gold, remained supported, despite its latest drop during the European morning session.
In the New York Mercantile Exchange on the Comex division, gold's April delivery was at $1,233.35 a troy ounce, shedding approximately 0.2% or $2.70.
Silver futures approached $17.66 a troy ounce, declining 0.5% or 9.3 cents, palladium reached $761.85 an ounce, dropping 0.4%, and platinum traded to $1,010.35, dipping 0.3%.
Oil lower extending its drop
Brent crude futures traded to 54.70 per barrel, 0.64% or 35 cents lower, and the (WTI) crude decelerated 0.94% or 49 cents to $51.68 a barrel.
